" * The Monowai, from Auckland,- via Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington, should reach Lyttolton this' morning', and will leave <hi<» port to-morrow evening for Dunedin, from whenoe sho is espscted to return, here on Wednesday next. The Corinna was expected (o leave Wellington last evening laden with cargo for Dunedin, from which port she will sail for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton, being dno here about the 16th instant to load for Nelson: and New Plymouth. Mr J. Grant, late engineer on the ferry ■ steamer Mararoa, has joined the Opihi as second engineer, _ replacing Mr McLeod, and Mr Alrich has joined tho sane vessel as third engineer. Mr P. Hunter is chief engineer of the vessel. Mr C. Burgess has signed on the Kauri as second offioer, relieving Mt W. H. Cadwallader, who has reverted to the position of third officer. Messrs "T. Sawyera and R. Berryman have joined the Mararoa as second and third officers respectively.. Mr i A Coles has been appointed second officer of the Kakapo. _ The Lyttelton Harbour Board's dredge ! Canterbury is at present in dock undergoing some minor repairs. Tho steamer Karamu, having completed discharge of her Napier and Wellington cargo at Lyttelton yesterday, waa despatched for the West Coast. The John Anderson was put on the Lyttelton Blip yesterday receive her semiannual overhaul.
