« : — HUNDREDS OF AWARDS. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (AußtraJian and N.Z. Cable Association.; LONDON, January 8. Hundreds of names of men and women on whom the Order of the British Empire has been bestowed for services rendered in connexion with ihe war, are published in a thirty-two page "Gazette." The recipients' activities em- - brace varied forms of war occupation. Only a few names of well-known overseas persons are included in the present lists. The Knight Commanderships indue Sir Rider Haggard, a member of the Dominions Royal Commission. Tho Commanders include the Salvationists, Mary Booth and W. J. Haines,, and tho music hall artist, llr Georco Robey. The Officers of the Order include 3lr William Hibberdine, traffic manager of tho Eastern Telegraph Company.
