BOWLING.
DOMINION TOURNAMENT. (press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, January 8. The Dominion bowling tournament was commenced to-day in overcast weather. The singles competition was -begun on nine, greens. Five rounds will be played 10-day. The competition will be continued to-morrow morning, and in the afternoon the official opening will be held on. the Remuera green. The pairs will begin on Friday, ani the rinks on Monday. Forty-eight clubs aro represented, aver four hundred bowlers participating. ~~
