LYTTELTON NEWS « BOROUGH SCHOOL ROLL OF HONOUR. Mr E. U. Just, late headmaster of the Lyttelton District High School, passed through Lyttelton last evening-, on his way North to attend the annual meeting of the Education Institute at Wellington. When Mr Just jeturne from Wellington, which will probably be in about a week's time. li 0 purposes making arrangementa for preparing l a suitable roll of honour of all expupils of the Lyttelton Borough School and District High School, who made the supreme sacrifice or suffered wounds in the service of the Empire. The task of compiling a list of names, which now exceeds 300, was undertaken by Messrs Just and W. Crocker. It is probable that a meeting of citizens will be called at an early date to consider the matter. MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Messre W. T. .Lester and i\ Knights, J.P.'s, presided at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court' yesterday morning, when a first offender waa convicted and discharged, a prohibition order being issued against him. James Wright was charged with drunkennests, assaulting Constable Heslop, and deserting from the steamer Devon at Wellington on December 24th, 1918. Accused pleaded guilty to tho charges of drunkenness and desertion, but not guilty to the charge of assault. For drunkenness he was convicted and discharged. He wa3 convicted and ordered to come up for sentenoe when called upon for- assaulting, the constable, and for deserting from his oliip he was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment, and to be put on board the ship before she sails. THE PICTURES. A Metro picture play, "The Winding Trail." starring Viola Dana, was the chief Sim rereoned at yesterday' 6 sessions in the Harbour Lirht Picture Theatre. The same programme will be repeated this evening. Ann Bennington will appear to-morrow in a bright Pari'moriit picture, entitled "Sun«hice Ann."
