Cloud (0-10) .. .. 7' 10 ASHBURTON. The readings taken at tho -Ashburton Domain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer, £9.70; thermometer, max. 65, min. 45. The meteorological observations taken at the Ashburton Domain weather station for t-he mouth of December aro as follows:— Highest barometer, 29.99 inches on the 24tli; lowest, 28.87 inches on the 23rd; highest maximum, 80 degrees on the 19th; lowest, 53 degrees on the 10th.; highest minimum, 59 degTeos on the 4th; lowest, 35 degrees on the 10th. The rainfall for December wa« 1.30 inchcs. Tho fall for tho year wa-s 26.03 inches. DOMINION RECORDS. At' 1 p.m. yesterday.
DOMINION FORECAST. The following is the Dominion meteorologist's forecast, issued ».l AVellington at 4 p.m. yesterday: — Present indications arc for strong and squally northerly winds, changing to southerly southward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint in about 24 hours. Unsettled, cloudy, and misty weathor may be expected with raip following generally, and the barometer falling everywhere, but rising in. the south shortly.
