TO PAINT SCENE IN BEATTY'S CABIN.
LONDON, November 21. Tlie historic scene in Admiral Sir David Beatty's cabin on tho Queen Elizabeth when tho Gorman delegates arranged for the surrondor of tho German fleet, is to bo placed on canvas by Sir John Lavory, of the Royal Academy. Sir John made a special visit to tho Grand Fleet at the request of the British Admiralty to make the preliminary sketches for the painting. He was present in the Admiral's cabin during tho wholo of the conferenco, and painted a finished study of tho scone, which will serve as a basis for the big canvas which he hopes to complete in the next few months.
Thoro will be fifteen figures in tho painting, including Admiral Boatty, Vice-Admiral Sir Montagu Browning. Rear-Admiral Sir Reginald Tyrwhitt, and the five Gorman delegates. If the painting is completed in time ifc will be exhibited at the Royal Academy next year.
