DEMOBILISATION.
ALLEGED DISCONTENT. (By Cablo.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and Cable Association.) (Received January 7th, 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, January 6. The newspapers are gratified at the restraint of . the authorities and the good sense shown by the men, which have prevented a serious situation regarding demobilisation. The position is now developing, and there are discontented outcries. It is insisted that the Dominions are short of men, also that there is heaps of work for men at Home. The men say they are only wasting their time in France, and emphasise the fact that trouble would not have arisen if tho war was still on. Xeave boats are now running as usual. POPULATION FOR THE COLONIES. (Australian acd X.Z. Cabie Association.) (Renter's Tele-rams.) LONDON, January 6. The officer commanding the Lancashire Regiment is asking for agencies in Australia, New Zealand, and British Columbia. He says that practically the whole unit wishes to emigrate after demobilisation to engage in fruitgrowing and mixed farming.
