DRUNK AND DISORDERLY.^ Joseph Grosvenor Kcit and Albert £.3ward Way pleaded r.ot guilty to beins drunk and disorderly in Cathedral square early yesterday morning. Sergeant O'Grady said "the pair were seen by him singing at the top of their voices in the Square shortly after midnight, and' ono of thein was holding a half empty l>oex botue from which they had been drinking. He told them to stop and go homo, and said that they were acting like hoodlums. One of tho men got very annoyed at this, and after saying that he had i boen .it the front forthroo years, said he would push tho sergeant over if he mol&stcd them. Both men were under the influence of liquor. Constable Taylor also gave evidence. The accused Keti eaid thai tho whole trouble arose from Sergeant O'Grady calling him a, "hoodlum."' .As he had done three years' military service and had a good discharge he was certainly annoyed at being called a name like this. His Worship said, taliing all the circumstances into consideration, he would not inflict a fir.o. Accused would be convicted and ordered to come up for sentcuco when called upon.
