ACTORS ORGANISING.
"If ivc actors were one and indivisible wo could stop this traffic in human bodies and souls in. six months." fn these words a group of inlluential actors are appealing to members of their profession to push on the trade \mion movement- which the Actors' Association has been organising energetically for some time past (says an English* paper). Those whose names are appended to this appear are Mr Henry Ainley, Mr J. D. Beveridge, Mr Alfred Jiishop, Mr James Oarcw, Mr H, V. Esmond, Mr C. V. France, Mr Lauri de Frece, Mr C. M. Hallard, Mr Nelson Keys, Mr Lennox Pawle, Mr Sydnev Paxton, Mr C'. Aubrey Smith, -Mr George Tulley, and Mr Henry \ibart. They quotf* this clause, which they call ''hellish," fro m on© of the contracts which the "Stage ' has been publishing:—The manager engages the artist to play partor parts ior which she may be required at a weekly salarv of £2. to include VI performances. The clause condemned represents only faintly the demands made upon actors and actresses by som»3 of the managers whose forms of contract have been I given in the "Stage.
