DUNEDIN TRAMWAY DISPUTE.
(press association telegram.) DUNEDIN. January 3. A conference was held to-day between the tramway employees ana their <+). employers, Mr W. H. JAagger, Conciliation Commififiioner, presiding. The workers asked for an* eight-hour day, with overtime to operato afterwards at time and a half rates. Discussion on this demand continued for three hours, when the city t'.am representatives agre«l to a minimum of 8 hours, with time and a quarter rates for tho first hour in excess, anfi time and a half rates afterwards. The workers accepted this proposal, and a modification of it was agreed upon by the representatives of the Roslyn and Koikorai Companies.
