OBITUARY.
* Tho death occurred at Gre.vmoutli, on Thursday evening, ot' a well-known "West Coast pioneer, and a liighly-re-spected South Beach resident, in tho person -of Mr Robert Delaney. Deceafiod. 'who was 76 years of age, and a native of County Kilkenny, Ireland, arrived in New Zealand about fifty years ago. After following mining and farming pursuits, bo twenty years ago entered the employ of the Grey County Council, and remained there until his death. He loaves a wife and family nf three sons and two daughter l ;, while a fourth son. Private Michael J>e!ancy, made the supremo sacrifice at tho war. The Wellington Working Men's Club flew its flag at half-mast on Thursday j a mark of respect for two of its lifo members —Captain Clark and Mr Frederick Carter, who have just, passed away. Mr Carter, who died at Central terrace. Lower Hint, was for many years connected with the working of the totalizators on Trentham racecourse. Captain Clark, whose death occurred at Blenheim, was an old shipmaster, who had traded out of "Wellington for many yeanp. He was in charge of tho steamer Opawn. in the V ellingtonBlenheim trade, before lie retired from the sea some years ago.
