Tho Military and Public Works Department men havo Iteen employed in clearing up the place after the German prisoners. It is understood that there is accommodation (but no eqtiir.ment or supplies, as yow for some 200" people to be quarantined on the island. The differenco in pay between soldiers and civilians, which is greatly to tao advantago of the latter, for doing, tfle same work of clearing up. is said havo causcd some heartburning on tne part of the soldiers. They feol that there should be equal pay for equal work.
