REGATTA AT TAUMUTU.

The Ellesmere Aquatic Club' 3 annual regatta took place at the Fishermen s omt, Taumutu on New Years Day. Lp till he early afternoon the weather was wet and in con&equenco the attendance was only about half what it would have been had the whole day been fine. Owing to the W start some of the events had to be abandoned. The afternoon, however, proved very enjoyable, and the races were interesting. Many pleamiTe tripa were run by the motor-boat ownera. The Ellesmere Brass Baud provided a programme of music, and the M Croaa Branch conducted a refreshment borth and sweets stall. TNvothirds of we proceeds of the regatta gol to the Bed Cross Branch and one-third to the ->l aorl Soldiers' Comforts Fund. A dance was held in the Sedgemere Hall at night.
