SHIPPING NOTES. Captain Cameron, late master of the Mararoa, is ashore on sick leave. Mr Robertson has joined the Mararoa as third officer. The Wakatu will probably sail from Lyttelton to-day for Wellington, via Kaikoura. She is Vmed to leave Wellington on a return trip sojeh on Saturday, being due here the followiaj day. The Kamo has been fixed for departure from Lyttelton today with general merchan dise for New Plymouth direct. After having been laid up at Lyttelton for eome time the Rosamond ie to be despatched off" Saturday for Napier and GisbTSrne. The Orator's loading will probably be completed in time to despatch her on Saturday for Wellington, where she will complete b9fore proceeding to the United Kingdom. The Calm leaves • Lyttedton to-morrow, laden with general merchandise for Dunedin and Timaru. She returns to Lytteltoni next Tuesday to load for northern ports. The Kaanona is due at West port shortly from Onehunga to load coal for discharge at Lyttelton and Timaru. Laden with timber from Greymouth the coastal steamer Orepuki is expected to put in an appearance at Lyttelton on Sunday. After discharge she will load general cargo for Greymouth. The small coastal steamer Manaroa will undergo repairs at Port Chalmers before returning- to Wellington. _ ; The Monowai is due at Napier on Monday, en rout© for Gisborne and Auckland. She leaves Auckland on Saturday for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Union Company advise that the Kaiapoi has been) released from quarantine at Melbourne, and the vessel's timber cargo.is now being discharged. She will commence to load general cargo this week for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The Kaiapoi is expected to leave the Victorian port about the 6th : inst. The Union Company's steamer Wiaitomo, which was to have left Dunedin on Monday for Sydney, is still detained in port i'g;iy3 Tuesday's Dunedin "Star"). A full crev.- has been secured, but the men appear i io hav© no intention of going to sea until | after the New Year holidays.
