BOWLING.
UNITED CLUB. A Progressive Doubles Tournament was played on the United Green' yesterday, 28 players taking part, including a number of visitors. Heavy showers of rain interfered with the play. Five rounds were played. W. S. Newburgh (Christchurch Club), 4J wins, won the skips' prize, while the leads' prize went to F. M. Brown, who won all his games. WELLINGTON TOURNAMENT. (fbess association telegbam.) "WELLINGTON, January 1. At the Wellington Bowling Tournament, Newtown Club (Prince, skip) won the final in the Rinks' Competition from Wellington Club (Gooder, skip), by 21 to 15.
