BOYS' LEAGUE MATCHES.., WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY. The matches arranged between the Canterbury Boys' Cricket League and the WelUneton Boys' League were commenced at Higley Park yesterday. Play was delayed until 11 a.m., on account of the rain, but tie wickets dried well. The aftenioon was fine. • but cold. The match between fat. Cutkbert's (Wellington) and a junior representative team from the City and Suburban Association was also played on the same ground, all the wickets being provided free of cost by the Canterbury Cricket Association. The following is the result of the day'a play:— SENIOR GRADE. Wellington made 106 (Morgan 32, Bromley "3. Bin* 15, O'Neill 13), and 62 for four wickets (Greig 22, Barr 16, O'Neul 15 not out). Canterbury made 181 (Shernffe 78, Grose 77). Lawrence, four ■'for 23, Eaton three for 29, and Soptly three for 39 \ took the wickets for Wellington, and Sher/riffs five .for 36, King two for 3, and Crook two for 6, bowled best for Canterbury. The match will be resumed at noon, to-day. : , JUNIOR GRADE. Canterbury made IJ£ (Butcher 47, Scrimshaw, 18, Chaaton 10), and 180 for six wickets (Butcher 56 "not out, . Talbot 31, Falloon 16). Wellington made 106 (Malcolm 26, Bennejtt 13, Oliver 13, Warwick 11, Banks 10, Dawe 11' not out). Scrimshaw seven for 43' for Canterbury, and Dawe four for 25 for Wellington, bowled, best.
