Private advice has been received i" , r Christchurch that Private L. Reid, late of tiie "JLyttelton Times" linotype staff, has been wounded, and is now a patient* in the Walton-on-Thames Hospital. Mrs C. Brown, Burnham, has receiv- i ed word that her husband. Corporal Charles Brown, was wounded on April ' 28th, 191b, in the head. H© went away with the 12th Reinforcements, : and has seen some heavy fighting. He ■ has been awarded the Military Medal - for bravery under heavy fire, and carrying out the wounded on Kemmel Hill. He also holds the King's and Queen's Medal for the South African War. Mr M. Macpherson, of Fairfield, has received word that his son. SergeantMa jor Norman Macphenson, who left with the Main Body, is suffering from trench fever, and has been transferred // to the No. 10 General Hospital, Ab- ; bassia, Cairo. This is the first time he : has had anything wrong with him.
