The Acting-Prime Minister states that of loans amounting to £28,000,000, authorised in 1917, there remained £10,229,000 not raised. A fresh war loan of £9,500,000 was issued in MarcJi last, and the subscriptions amounted to £10,452,3a0. Tho whole of the 1917 authorisation had been ovcr-BUbscribed by £203,135. COMPULSORY SUBSCRIPTIONS. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, July 18. The Acting-Minister of Finance announces that the liist batch of notices under the compulsory provisions of tho Finance Act, relating to subscriptions to the war loan, has been sent out. The indications aro that the number ■wili not be larp;e. The lists of subscribers aro being scanned, and any who have not subscribed at all and tre apparently in a position to do bo will be sent noticcs.
