Under the title "Resurrection of the Heart" tho Paris "Journal" publishes a description of remarkable experiments made by Professor Laurent, of the Brussels Faculty, which has been communicated to the French Academy or Medicine. Professor Laurent removed the heart of a dog and joined it up with a largo blood-ves6cl of a living dog, whereupon tho organ swelled anu resumed its natural rosy lint and began to beat noruiai.y, so that the regularity of the circulation of the living animal could be observed from it. It is for biologists and philosophers to decide, the writer remarks, whether this means tho postponement of death.
