ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. The Council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society met last night, the president, Dr. C. M, Anderson, being in the choir. The financial statement showed a credit balance at July 17th of £35 1b 2d. Messrs J. Fuller and J. Bryden wrote accepting supernumerary mem bora hip of the society. The Aehburton Society wrote, altering. its order from 20,000 eyed ova to fry. The Society also, naked if the Canterbury Society would undertake to restock the Kakaia x the Ashburton Society's proportion of the cost not to exceed .£2O. With regard to restocking the Bakaia, the matter was left in the bands of the Gardea Committee with power to act. Tho Waitaki Society _ wrote, asking if anythirg had been done with regard to the holding of a conference. Tho letter was referred to the executive with power to arrange for delegates and the date. The Otago Society asked for an explanation of certain suggested alterations to tho fishing regulations, as the members of the committee could not see the point of some of them. This matter was also referred to the executive. Messrs Tisdale, Marsden, and De la Cour were appointed the Swan Egg Committee.
