PERSONAL NOTES
Mrs W. J. "Wilson, of Clive street, (iinwood, has received woi-d that her irother, Corporal J. L. Philpott, has jocn admitted to tho First JNew Zealand General Hospital, .brockeahurst, mffering from a poisoned hand, but is progressing favourably. Corporal Pnilpott left with, the Jp. a recent letter .Rifleman Lancelot 0. Miller, of tiie 4th .battalion or tae New Zealand Riile Brigade, pays a soldier's frank tribute to the memory, of the Rev. A. Allen, lately JVletnodist minister at Caversham, ciiaplaih to tiie Forces, who was killed in action several weeks ago. He writes:—"Mr Allen was our padre for close on twelve months. We all feel the loss of him very much. He was a fine padre, a good officer, and a thorough gentleman, game as a pebble, and we all simply worshipped him.. / He was the same, whether away back or .up in the front line, always with a cheery word or joke and a smile for everyone, and God knows we need it. He was not one of the sort that talked j-eligion all the time. He could, enjoy a good, clean joke, smoke a pipe, and join in all our games and sports, and if a chap was in trouble our padre was with him right away, doing his best to straighten things out. I can tell you his name will be remembered in the regiment for ever. He helped to make it what it is, one of the cleanest fighting regiments in the army, whose motto is Death bolore Dishonour."
In the course of numerous experiments with rheumatic and gouty BU b. jeots, scientists noticed that the blood of'every patient contained excess urio acid. Many prescriptions to neutralise and expel this urio acid were tried hut without success. One of N.Z.'s leading chemists worked on the problem for many years. At last he compounded a medicine which cured in many cases—oven sufferers for over twenty years. One told another of this wonderful medicine—RHEUMO—and thus the sales grew. RHEUMO seldom fails to give relief, as instanced by the testimony of a former Member of the Wellington City Council:— "I experienced a very bad attack of Rheumatic Gout; so bad that I had to leave business. On arrival home, I immediately took a dose of RHEUMO, ; repeating same every four hours. . The pain soon left, and in the morning I came down to business as usual. I can confidently recommend it to sufferers from Rheumatic Gout.
Get' a bottle to-night, 2s 6d and 4s 6d, at chemists and stores. 50
