INQUESTS. Charles 3>owie Begg, officer in charge of the City Council's electrical testing room, who Was severely injured in a motor accident on Tuesday evening, died the same night. An inquest was opened yesterday before Mr H. W. Bishop, Coroner, at which Dr. Will testified that deceased had been admitted to the Hospital at 8.10 p.m., suffering from a fractured skull, and h'ad died I a little over nn hour later. As Mrs Begg, who was riding in deceased's sidechair at the time or the accident, was unable., owing to her injuries, to appear, the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed. An inquest was held by Mr H. W. Bishop, Coroner, yesterday, touching the death of Robert Kerslake Carrell, who was found doad in bed on Tuesday evening at his residence, 62 Cashel street. who was 64 years of age, was a shipping clerk in the employ of Kinse.v and Co. A verdict was returned that death was due to heart failure, following bronchitis and pneumonia.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, Julv 17. The inquest on Orniond C. Cooper, who died on Saturday as the result of an accident in Molesworth street on the previous Wednesday, was concluded *jday. Frank James Griffin, the driver of the lorry concerned in the collision, said he was on the right-hand side of the road, because the left side was too narrow to allow him ti> pass the car safely. The nisrht was dark, and he fras carryine a licrht beneath the shnft on the right-hand side. Witness said he considered the driver of the taxicar was travelling at an excessive speed. The lorry was stopped close: to vhe gutter. After the accident The lamp was missing. The Coroner 'Mr Riddell, S.JL) said in his opinion the verdict must be that deceased died from injuries accidentally received, lie added: *'1 do not think in the circumstances that any blame can be attached to the driver of the motor-car, and so. far as the driver of the lorry is concerned, I mako no remark.
