WELLINGTON, July 17. % Sir Jamos Alien and other members of tno Gov eminent met repiesentetlves of toe recent Labour Conference held to discuss tho so-called industrial 00®* sci-iption proposals in ciauso '25 of to® Finance Act of last year. Sir James Allen assured the depu»* tion that before any regulations were made, Labour would be consulted, and that the intention was not to uso tb® clause as the Labour people seemed to suspect was tho intention—to suppress Labour, or make it possible for pioyers to exploit the workers. . Mention was made of tho Jugo-Slavs. • Sir James Allen said the Government had niade uso of this ciauso as affecting the Jugo Slavs bccauso there were no other regulations suitable for the purpose. The steps taken against the JugoSlavs were to protect tho workers and conserve for our own people the guinfields which were being exploited by them.
