ALLEGED SEDITIOUS ARTICLE. Cpbkss association TSUG&AX.) DUNEDIN, July 17. At tlie Magistrate's Court to-day, Thomas Padraic Cummins and Albert James O'Ryan were jointly charged in that they caused to be published in a newspaper called the "Green a seditious utterance, which was seditious in that it was caused to be published by defendants with intention to excite disaffection against the Government of the United Kingdom, and to encourage the commission m the United Kingdom of an offence prejudicial to public safety in respect of the present wax, to wit, the crime of treason, and levying war against his Majesty. Cummins admitted writing the article, but pleaded not guilty to' sedition, and O'Ryan pleaded guilty to publishing hut not to sedition. The case was adjourned till next Wednesday. The article which formed the basis of the charge dealt with Ireland.
