ESTIMATES FOB COMING YEAR. Tho City Council last evening adopted its estimates for the coming year, and appointed a special meeting next month for 'he striking of a rate of 2|d in the £ on the unimproved value. The ovordraft on March 31st, 1818. was £37,756 ss, tho liabilities on that date £11,177 63 7d. Tho estimates for iyid-1913 are £89,3(12 Oa ad, and the totals of votes for 1916-19 of £130,503 7s 4d. Kooeipte show tho following particulars:— Outstanding March 31st, 1918, £4423 8s Id, estimates lor 1918-19 ±14,468 18s Bd, total £J.a,B»a Is 4d. 'lhe additional sum required to meet the proposed expenditure is £111,617 6s, less the estimated overdraft on March 31st, 1919, £42,256 6s 6d, total £69,261 Ob 6<L Tho total rateable value of property on the valuation roll is: Unimproved value £5,738,683, capital v&luo £118,020. Tho total unimproved value of property on the valuation roll is £5,790,138. General rates to be made and levied are: On the City of Chris tchurch (except the area known as Avoneide): On the unimproved value, £5,738,683 at 2£d, £08,744 12s 9d. On that portion of tho city of Christohurch knowfn as Avonsido: On the capital value, £118,020 at 1 16411—635000 d, £616 7a 9d.
