, LONI>ON, July 14. Lord Rothschild presided over ..a meeting welcoming tho American Zionist Medical unit, which is undertaking relief work in talestino.
Mr G. N. Barnes, M.P., speaking on behalf of the Government, said that Palestine was now ready for transformation. It would be tho first 6Pene in the uplifting of the peoples of tho East, in which Zionism would play a leadingpart. Tho Government proclaimed its trust in, tho Zionists' future because Zionism was identified with tho ideals for which the Allies were fighting. .Sir Alfred Mond, M.P., said . that Zionism did not intend to proclaim a monopoly of tho Holy excluding all other races. Its object was to establish in Palestine a Jewish National centre, whero Jews from all over the world could maintain tlfe life, thought, and mission of tho Jewish race, in complete harmony with the other peoples of Palestine.
