PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr R- Latter, of Barry's Bay, who has been seriously indisposed for over a month, is now convalescent. Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., who was recently appointed to 1 Auckland, was sworn in before Mr "'Justice Herdman at the Supremo Court yesterday. Word has been received that Lieut. J. M. C. McLeod, son of Mr and Mrs A. McLeod, Geraldine, has been awarded the Military Cross for gallantry on the field of action in Franco. It was announced in the London "Gazette" in May, that Captain the Prince of Wales, M.C., Grenadier Guards, had been promoted to bo temporary major whilst employed as a General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade. A man named H. Reighton, an employee of tho electrical department of the City Council, whilo working on a tank in Sydenham yesterday, fell in, and received injuries to his head and face. Ho was taken to the Hospital. The Rev. A. T. Thompson has resigned the presidency of the Christchurch Ministers' on account of his duties in connexion with the British and Foreign Bible Society, and the Rev. P. Knight Las ueen elected to fill the vacancy. Messrs J. W. Collins and P. Hally, of the Beard of Trade, are in Christchurch. Messrs W. G. McDonald and J. R. Hart are expected to arrive today. Among the matters which_ will engage the Board's attention whTie in town are the milk supply and the distribution of petrol under Government regulation.
