To-morrow is the annual young people's day at the Oxford tcrrace Baptist ChurchThe Sunday school will parade at XI o clock. The new infants' ciaas-ioom will be thro vn open for inspection at i' 2 o'clock. At 6.3J the hocKey and gymnastic clubs will paraac, when Sergeant IS. V. Smith will epeak on "A White Him," and the Kcv. J. J. Korih on "A White AVoman."
The second term. of Canterbury begins on Saturday, 20th iiist. The half-term ot the School of Art commences on Monday.
A meeting of residents in tho district will be held in tno new Lib.ary building, Lincoln road, on Wednesday, at 8 p.m., for tho purpose of arranging lor a committee to control the Library.
Undor tho auspi-.es of the Social Hygiene Society, Captain Pettit, will give a lecture in the Ca.edonian Hall on Thursday evening. A coinp.iiiicntary social to Mr J. B. Merrett on his return from Aus.ralia, will be held in the Scottish Society s rooms on Saturday next, at 7.30 p.m.
A concert will be given in the street schoolroom to-night, in aid of the Elmwood School Bed Cross Kimd.
SCHOOLBOYS' FOOTBALL MATCH • A representative match waa played at the Show Grounds, Arlington, yesterday afternoon,' between the boys of the Chiistchurch and Timaru Bros, schools. After a keen, fast contest, the Chriatchurch boys were succcEßfiil by 18 points to nil. P. Madden (2), Sullivan, and J. Madden Morcd tries, tiuee of them being converted by J. Madden.
