•MOUNT HERBERT.

At the monthly meeting of the Mi. Herbert County Council, there were present:— Messrs O. Bradley (chainmtn), A. R. Fleming, J. E. F.eming, W. H. Firmston, Q. C. Hanson, F. R. H. Gardiner, and J. D. Bundy. An apology was received from Mr L. M. "Wilson. Tho chairman moved that ft vote of condolence bo forwarded to the members of tho family of the late Mr Gideon Henderson. The motion was carried in silence, members standing. „ Mr J. E. Fleming moved: "That the Council strike a general rate of £d ui the £ for the Port Levy riding, and Jd in the £ for the Port Victoria riding for tho ensuing year." The motion was seconded by Mr Q. C. Manson. and earned. The sub-committee appointed to enquire into «ho electrical reticulation pf the county presented its report, and it was resolved to communicate with the county before making further arrangements. It was Tesolvcd to charge 3s por collar for all dogs registered in the county. The financial statement showed a debit balanoe of £309* Is lOd.
