DEPARTING SOLDIERS.
Chi Saturday evening the employees of Messrs C. Hunter and Co. met to eay goodbye to Private T. I>. Walker, of the 41st Komforcementa. very enjoyable evening" was spent. Mr_ Hunter, in presenting Private Walker with a silver wristlet watch, wished him the beat of luck and a quick return. Musical items wer e givon by Privato Hicks, Messrs Hean, Tumber, and Newton. Mr Judkina acted as pianist. The employees of Mr A. Peppier met laM week to say farewell to two of their fellowworkers, Privates H. Abbott and Win. Peppier, who were the recipients of expressions of goodwill. The presentations wcxo made by Mr J. A. Black. Both soldiers leavo with the 41st Reinforcements.
Privato Jack Payton, of the 41st Reinforcements, who ia clown on final leavo, was the recipient of a wristlet watch, tobacco pouch, and cijfaxette-holder from his shopmates at Suckling Bros., Ltd. Mr Wellington mado the .presentation, and in the course of his remarks stated that Private Payton was the twelfth of th<» firm's employees to leave, on active service.
