SOCIALISTS ARRESTED

CAPE TOWN, July 7. Three International /socialists have been arrested at Johannesburg. Two raids were made simultaneouslv on the offices, workshops and dwellings of the three men, with the utmost secrecy. The arrested men are S. P. Bunting (formerly provincial councillor), H. Hanscombe (a recent arrival from America), and Tinker.

CAPE TOWN, July 8. Three International Socialists were arrested in Johannesburg, charged with public violence, and were remanded. The prosecution alleges that the accused sat in council with the natives, and instructed them to strike. It was only through an accident that 250,000 natives along the reef did not strike.
