LOADED AMERICAN TRANSPORT ATTACKED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received July 9th, 11.40 p.m.) ■ OTTAWA, July 9. News has been received at an Atlantic port that a loaded American transport was attacked by eight U-boats in the Bay of Biscay. Two of the Üboats were sunk by shelifire. The Norwegian vessel Atigvald was torpedoed "and sunk in mid-Atlantic. Three of those on board wore drowned and 13 are missing.

ANOTHER HUN OUTRAGE. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 8. Haakon Ohlson, the sole survivor of the Norwegian coal ship Eglington, was picked up on a raft in the North Sea, after horrible sufferings, extending over nine days. The submarine, Ohlson states, approached without warning, and shelled the ship, firing on the sailors launching the lifeboat. They finally succeeded in'making a raft six feet by four. Of nine on the raft, eight died. Ohlson threw himself overboard, and after living on sea-sodden biscuits and water, was picked up by a patrol boat.
