ENEMY ALIENS.
(press association telegram.) GISBORNE, July 8. A big public meeting was held tonight to urge the Government to intern all enemy aliens and employ them upon work for the benefit of the State. The speakers included Sir James Carroll, the Mayor (Mr AY. G. Sherratt), and Mr Bedford, president of the Returned Soldiers' Association. There is great public interest in the movement, and : the Opera House was packed. I
