A meeting of the Woolston Borough Council was held lost night. Present —The Mayor (Mr McGregor Wright), and Crs. D. Bowse, G. H. Burrows, G. S. White, D. Mcßac, 8. H. Johns, T. Radoliffe, J. O. Hobson, and T. N. Champ. , _ Jt . . The Town uicrk reported that on® building permit had been issued during Juno, end that five houses had been connected with the electric maine, making a total of 22 connected since March 31st.—Adopted. The Finance Committee reported that the dr. bank balance was £832 12s Bd. The Electricity Committee reported that two houses had been wired, tho total oost being £20 170 lid. The trees in contact with the Council's mains had been attended to.—Adopted. Cr. J. Hobson referred to the bad state of tho road between the tramway lines, between the school and Bt. John'e street, and moved that the attention of the tramway authorities be drawn to the matter.—The motion was carried. A special meeting was head at the contusion of the ordinary meeting, in order to consider the balance-sheet and statement of aocounts for the year ending March' Slst, 1918. This statement was adopted.

ItICCARTON. The Kiocarton Borough Council met last evening. Present—Tho Mayor (Mr J. Brown) and Crs. W. Dalley, H. Gudaell, H. W. Wise, A. E. Steere," F. George, A. D. Ford, and J. Mannings. The matter of the Council taking part in the Copper Trail movement in arl of the Lady Liverpool Trench Comforts Fund, concerning which a letter was received from Mr G. Witty, M.P., was discussed,, and it was decided Whelp in oveiy way possible. The Lighting Committee reported that therevenue from consumers since last meeting amounted to £78 2s 2d. Fifteen street lamps ha'l been replaced, and numerous erections, removals, - and minor repairs effeoted. The report was adopted. Tho Finance. Committee reported the recoipis for June _to have totalled £370 11a 2d, ana tho expenditure £257 17s 6d.—The report was adopted.
