Advico lias been received by Mrs -D. Bruce, 53 Madras street, that her brother, Corporal H. Cook, of tlio 41st Battalion, Australian Force, was gassed fo.- tho second timo on J uno 15th last. Ho was gnssed at Messines in June of last year, but made a good recovery. Corporal Cook, who saw service In the South African war, was for some time in tho employ of Messrs .W, Strange and Co., Christchurch.
Mrs Willis, 42 Straven street, Riccarton, has received advice from her son, Lieut. A. It. M. Willis, M.M.. that he is retui-ning homo. Lieut. Willis loft with tho 7th Reinforcements, and eaw service in Egypt and Franco. Before enlisting ho was on the staff of the wireless at Awarua.
Advice has been received by Mrs T. Hutchison, of Springston South, that her eldest son, Private T. Hutchison, died of pneumonia at Tidworth Military Hospital on June 2Sth. P r , 0r to leaving with the 27th Reinforcements the deceased had been engaged in farming with his mother at feouth, and also worked on Messrs Hewson Bros, threshing plant. He was a fine of manhood, and was very higu.y ro=i>ccrtcd by all who knew him.
