SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Cold end -fair to cloudy weather has prevailed to-day. The barometer has been unsteady in the North, but falling considerably in the South. ; , . Present indications are for strong soutn to north-westerly winds northwards of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, and squally westerlies elsewhere. Expect. increasing cloudiness in the northern and East Coast districts, but rain following soon. In fho western ani southern parts of the South Island the temperature is somewhat milder, wx.h a falling barometer everywhere.
