DEPARTING SOLDIERS.
A welcome home, and at the same time a send-off was given at Mr Harry Stuart's, Middleton, on Saturday evening; to Private W. Wotton, who went away with the Main Body, and returned recently on furlough, and has now gone back into camp again. H6 yras for many vears with Messrs H. Matson and Co. "There were about thirty friends present on. Saturday evening, and a programme of music and dancing was given. Miss Down presided at the piano, and songs were given by Mrs Scott and Miss Down, songs and recitations by Mrs McJarrow, violin solos by Mr Scott; piano and violin duet Miss and Mr Narbey, cornet solo Mr J. Lilico, and piano duet Misses Sargent and Mbrrisey. • An enjoyable little dance was held in the Beckenham Hall, as a farewell to Private W. D. S. Ledsham. The committee consisted of Messrs Merve Wilson, Pat. Butler, Les. Smart, and T. Wardell. Mr Smart, on behalf of his friends, presented Private Ledsham with an illuminated wristlet watch. Musical items were contributed by Messrs Cox and Butler, the remainder of the evening being spent in dancing.
