SPORTING.
RACING AND TROTTING NOTES. (BY "Looker-ON.") Owing to the heavy fall of rain aiid sleet yesterday the tracks at Ricfcarton ore in very bad order. Unless the weather clears trainers who have horses engaged at Trenthatn next week will not be able to wind them up for the meeting. When Castalia fell at Hastings week G. Clarke got a very- bad shaking which is likely to keep him out of the saddle for some days. It is stated that Waimai is to matte the trip to Trentham for the Wellington Winter Meeting, and he will then ccmo on to liicearton. Of the Riccarton horses entered 'it the Wellington Winter Meeting AchiJledes and Bandy are not making the trip. Others may also be allowed to drop out of their engagements. (Br 'Searchlight.") The annual general meeting of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club will bo held to-morrow, at 2.30 p.m. Matchlight has vacated B. Jnrden's stable and entered Oakhampton Lodge.
