WIIOII the flank of tho brigado to which he was attached becamo exposed during an advanco he passed through a heavy enemy, barrage, and b7 skilful disposition of his machijieguns ho covered the flank and gave great assistance to tho infantry in repelling an enemy counter-attack. During the advanco be succoeded in bringing fifteen captured machine-guns into action against thp enemy by collecting and organising crews from th© infantry, whom ho had previously trained in tho uso of thpsp guns. His courage, energy, and devotion to duty were beyond all praise. Captain Muirson, who left Christchurch when ninotoen, went to the front with tho Ist Australian Brigade as a private, and has won his promotion atid also a bar to Tiis Military Cross. He is now attached to the Ist Lancers, Risalb'nr, India. Before leaving England hp married Miss F.llinor Rupert, dauehter of Captain Rupert, late of the 13tb Hussars.
