BOROUGH COUNCILS.
RANGIORA. The monthiy meeting of the Rangiora Borough Council way? held last evening. Present—The Mayor (Mr C. I. Jennings), and Crs. F. B. Lane, H. Boyd, W. A. Baaks, V. 11. Pulley, W. J, Rouse. C. S. Ayera, and TV. A. Rowso. Ar. offer by tho Kaiopoi Shipping Company for tr«3 in Maria Andrew Park was referred to the Works and Finance Committee. It was decided to remove some of the posts at the street corners which arc reported to be dangerous. A motion to strike a general rate of throeponce in the £ on the unimproved ratecble value was approved. A special meeting was held before vho ordinary meeting, to consider and adopt tho balance-sheet for the year ending March 31st. The statement ehowed that the receipts on tie general account were £2846 lis 4d, and the expenditure £3271 15s Sd, leaving a debit of £125 'Is 4d. The receipts on the gas account were £3223 10s sd, and expenditure £3202 9s 9d, reducing tho debit balance to £1073 15s Bd. Tbs balance-sheet was adopted.
