Seigeant Gray, who had won an honourod reputation among C;anterbury teaclhev, was, a vear before leaving for the iiont, married to Miss Olive daughter of Mr E. E. Sergeant ; Gray had taken an energetic and prominent <part in all social and, outdoor •activities, and his loss to tho district is indeed great.
