A Judge recently ventured 'he opinion that tho operations of the belligerents now cover so broad a field that there is hardly anything on the earth, in the air, or in tne waters that could not, under some circumstances, be described as an article capable of use. in war. The Birmingham Munitions Tribunal lias, however, drawn the lino at gold rings! A ring-stamper claimed compensation from his employer on the ground that he had been dismissed without notice. The chairman: We have nothing to do with that. The stamper: Well, the Labour Exchango told me you were the proper people to deal with the case. "Ridiculous," replied the chairman. "You are not engaged on the production of munitions of war or on anything connected with munitions, and we cannot do anything for you. You are simply wasting your time."
