A man n aimed A. Alio way, residing in Spencer street, Addington, caught the thumb of his left hand in a machine at tho Addington Rolling Mills, yesterday, and, in consequence, lost tho top of it. Ho was treated in the outpatients' ward at the Hospital. An old man, named George Collins, dropped dead outside the Canterbury Hotel, Methven, at noon, yesterday. The deceased had been about the district for many years, and was a labourer by occupation. An inquest will be held to-day. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, March 21. Captain Peter Lang, manager of the Whangape Timber Mill, was killed in tho bush at Whangape yesterday. Ho leaves a wife and grown-up family in Dunedin.
