RFX'ORI> ENTRY OF .STOKE SHEEP. (tit OCR COMMKKCIAI. BINTOn.) The yarding of store sheen was estimated at about 45,000, a record for tho yard.-. There were good entries in other departments, but the attendance was affected by the inclement weather. Fat cattle and fat lambs sold firmly at tho previous week's rates. Store sheeo were easier, and passings weie frqucnt, especially in the case of travelled sheep. Good locally-brca ewes, ewe lambs, and forward wethers maintained their values faiilj ncll, but all otlior descriptions wore easier. Fat sheep showed an advance, there being, keen competition for export, values being equal to 62d per lb over all for wethers, and 6}d per lb for ewes. There was a poor sale for stoic cattle, and most of the yarding was passed. Good dairy cows sold well as did fat pigs, and there was a moderate demand for store pigs. Store sheep. The estimated number of store sheep was -15,000, which was in excess of any previous offering. ch, ™' V made up of ewes, of which consig - ments were received from the Noith and Chatham Islands, and W ostland. The cold rain detracted from the appearance of -the sheep, and backward sorts wore particularly affected. The bidding lacked spirit, and passings were fairly numerous, especially tor outside sheep. Good Canterbiu \-brcd ewes owe lambs, and loin aid nethcis and lambs were most in demand, and maintained thoir values best, but othei sorts were easier. The sale was la to in finishing.
The range of prices was: — Two-tooth ewes to 38s Bd. Four and six-tooth ewes to 37s 3d. Six and eight-tooth owes to 33s 6d. Sound-mouth owes, 21s 2d to 30s 9d. Two-tooth wethers to 265. Two and four-tootV wethers to 26s 3d. Four and six-tooth wothers, 26s 3d to 31s Bd. F.we lambs to 26s 2d. Wether lambs, 14s to 225. Mixed sex lambs, 21s 3d to 265. There were 3485 fat lambs penned, and there was a large proportion of prime quality, most of which were in good sized linos. The market was firm at the previous week's rates, being equal to B:]d lb over all. The range of prices was: — Extra prime lambs to 34s 9d. Prime lambs, 27s 6d to 30s 9d. Medium lambs, 24s 6d to 275. Lighter lambs, 22s lOd to 245.

FAT CATTLE. There was a fair yarding of fat cattle cows and heifers forming the largest proportion, and the quality was well up j to the average. The market was tairlv firm at late rates. There was again a small entry of veaiers, and a good sale prevailed, the best quality fetching high prices. .Runners made up to £7 10s, good veaiers £3 os to £4 17s, fair and medium sorts 38s to 50s, small and inferior 3s 6d to 355, STORE CATTLE. There was a fairly large yarding cf store cattle, the best of which were several pens of two to three-year-old steers and heifers and a pen of three to lour-year-old steers, the balance being dry cows and odd lots. There was a dull sale, and most of the lines of young stock were passed in. The range of prices was: —Weaners £4 os, three and four-year steers £14, dry cows £7 to £9. DAIRY COWS.
There was a larger entry of dairy cows than usual, including a good proportion of heifers. There was a good demand for the better class of dairy cows, but aged sorts and young heifers were dull of sale. Best cows made £14 to £17, others £9 to £13 10s, best heifers £12 to £15, and others £8 to £11 10s. PIGS. ' The entry of fat pigs was again a medium one, and the demand was good for baeoners, but porkers were a diade easier. The range of priest was:— Choppers, £4 to £6 15s. _ Extra heavy baeoners, £3 15s to £6 8s 6d.. Henvv baeoners, £o 5s to £5 10s. Lighter baeoners, £4 5s to £4 15s. Equal to 7![d to 8d per lb. Heavy porkers, £3 15s to £4. Liglitw porkers, £2 15s to £3 10s. Equal to 9d to 9Jd per lb. A medium entry of store pigs came forward, but the demand was only a moderate one, chiefly from reasons connected with the weather. There were no large st vos penned. l'ricvs ranged as under:— Medium stores, 52s to 60s. Small stores, 28s to 365. "Weaners, 16s :o 245.
