MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Christchurch Ministers' Association was held on Monday afternoon, at the residence of the Rev. TJios. Fee, Barbadoes street, St. Albans. The .Rev. W. J. AYiliiairts presided. A letter was received from the Prime Minister, promising that the Association's request for an enquiry into the treatment of conscientious objectors by tlio military would be given careful consideration. A united intercession and communion •servico was arranged to be held in tho | Oxford Terrace Baptist Church, on (Tood Fridav morning, at which the Rev. R. M. Ryburn, of Invercargill, is bein" asked to deliver an address. The Rev. W. J. Williams, the retiring president, reviewed the work of the Association during the past year, makin" special reference to the fresh departures undertaken, and the difficulties of the modern ministry. _ Tho financial statement was submitted by the treasurer, which showed the income to have been £39 Is 44d, and the expenditure £3!) 19s (5Jd, leaving a deficit of 18s 2d. Tho sum of £-S lis B}d had been paid to patriotic iunds. The following officers -were elected lor the ensuing year: President, Rev. A. T. Thompson; secretary and treasurer, Rev H. Allen Job; Executive Committee. the president, secretary, and Revs. P. N. Knight, J. Paterson, .T. J. North, and J. Cocker. Afternoon tea was served, and the meeting closed with votes of thanks to the retiring officers, and to the Rev. and Mrs Fee for their hospitality.
