It was hoped to arrange for these, and if it could be carried out it would be neccssary for the Board to pass the compulsory attendance claused as laid down in IheAct. The report emphasised the urgent necessity for increased accommodation at the hostel. Tlie school was under-atailed also, and another teacher ahouid be appointed. A donation of books of reference had been made by the Ilcv. 31 r Murray, of Hanmer Springs, together with a valuable coliertioo of botanical microscopical slides. The Board decided to obtain mi estimate for a lean-to to accommodate 26 beds, nud in the mean-timo it. was decided to obtain a. marquee to relieve the hoiei. A vote of thanks vtaa passed to tho Rov. Mr Murray for his gift®. A credit balance ol £104 >in lOd was shown in the financial statement.
