THE WEATHER.
MAGNETIC OBSERVATORY. Meteorological observations taken at 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on March 18th:—
The readings taken at the Ashbnrton Domain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer, 29.62; thermometer, max. 63, min. 52. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Changeable and showery weather haa been experienced generally, with variable winds over tie week-end end atmospheric disturbances are in evidence both to the northwards and southwards of the Dominion, the disturbances in the far north appearing now of a cyclonic character. Present indications are for high and squally north-east to south-east winds, especially in the far north. Expect dull and gloomy weather and foggy in parts. Heavy rain is probable generally, the rivers rising shortly in tne northern part of the coast aiid southern districts, the barometer falling smartly in the north but rising shortly in the south.
