THE NEW ORDER.
TO TUE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS." Sir, —It is not often that I agree with Dr. Thacker, but I must endorse the protest which he made last night aga.'nst the undue discrimination used in the distribution ol : the Order of the British Empire. I coul.'i name thirty or forty people far more entitled to the honour than some of those who are the fortunate recipients. Such invidious distinctions are likely to cause a good deal of dissatisfaction, for wiuch. reason 1 would suggest that every person doing voluntary war work should receive recognition, or, as on alternative, no muvk of ■ distinction shouid be conferred upon any warworker. The satisfaction of knowing that one has done a good deed should be sufficient reward.—l'ours, etc., VIATOR. March 18th.
