BRITISH OFFICERS FOR ROTORUA.
ARRANGING FOR TREATMENT. (press association' telegram.) ROTORUA, March 17. In replj* to a deputation from the Chamber of Coimiiferce, Sir James Allen said •when ho stated that there was no room on the New Zealand hospital ships for British officers needing treatment at Rotorua, it was necessary to clear out the hospitals in England, and to have taken British officers on board would have meant excluding New Zealanders. The suggestion to treat British officers at ltotorua first came from the Dominion, not from the Imperial Government. An interchange of cablegrams on the matter had taken place Eince, and it was hoped that arrangements would be made by which officers for Rotorua could travel by troopships or mercantile liners.
