RED CROSS MOTOR CARNIVAL.

TO THE EDITOR OF "THE TRESS." Sir,—l would like to ask a question' with regard to the final meeting of tho Red Cross Motor Carnival .Committee, of which the details appeared in "The Press" of this morning. The carnival was a success, no doubt, barring Mr "Whitehead's unfortunate spill, but, sir, I should like to knoiv why the proceeds should be split up into a bonus of £50 and voted to Mill. J. Knight for his services as a committeeman. Why shouldn't every individual who goes to help a cause, like the Motor Carnival, help it with all their energy and skill without Accepting anything as a bonus for il:e work they have done for such a cause? Our soldiers are away from us all, each one doing his bit in tho great struggle of life, so I think :t is our duty here to help them in every possiblo way wo can in helping to win this war. AVe held a carnival here to help the funds along, men rislori thetr lives in order to make the carnival a success; -now Ave read of a bonus being voted to a member of the com-nittee out of the proceeds of the carnival. I doa't think that is fair plav on behalf or the sporling public, do you, sir?— Yours, etc., KEEN MOTORIST. March loth.
